    Deputy Director, Infrastructure Development

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Specifically, duties and responsibilities will entail:

    • Coordinates the development and implementation of MRTS and NMT policies, strategies, standards, procedures and guidelines;
    • Oversees the development and maintenance of MRTS and NMT infrastructure and associated facilities;
    • Ensures MRTS and NMT services are integrated with other modes of public transport;
    • Liaises with the implementing entities to ensure development works are delivered as per schedule and to the specified quality;
    • Oversees priority programmes and project implementation through set timelines, budgets and resource allocation;
    • Ensures the preparation of periodic programmes and projects reports;
    • Spearheads the Identification of MRTS and NMT Infrastructure development priority areas for funding;
    • Coordinates the preparation of funding proposals for projects and programmes;
    • Oversees the preparation of contracts for MRTS and NMT infrastructure development;
    • Partners with external finance agencies for resource mobilization and developing various project-financing models;
    • Coordinates the preparation of tender specifications and documents for MRTS and NMT infrastructure works;
    • Reviews the generated reports on projects and programmes;
    • Coordinates the identification and preparation of list of lead actors for corporate resource mobilization;
    • Reviews policies, analytic briefs and reports;
    • Oversees the integration of Public Transport and land use planning in the Nairobi Metropolitan Area (NMA); and
    • Oversees the design development and maintenance of MRTS stations, depots and associated Infrastructure.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    • A minimum period of ten (10) years in relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in supervisory role in a position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
    • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management/ Construction Management or any other relevant qualifications;
    • Bachelor’s degree   in  Civil   Engineering,   Architecture,   Project Management/ Construction Management or Equivalent qualifications;
    • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Registered with an accredited and recognized professional body
    • Proficiency in computer skills
    • Demonstrated results in work performance; and
    • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution

    •  An approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB Report);
    •  Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (Dully filled and completed first schedule (s.13) and self-declaration form stamped by the EACC.
