Main objective of the position and Tasks Description (not limited)

• Development of a solar PV portfolio of large scale projects. Drive the projects to planning application and consent. Deal with local stakeholders (landowners, DNOs, offtakers, EPC and O&M suppliers) to build a suitable business case for these projects in the context of a move towards subsidy free power plants.
• Engineer these project to optimize there return by accommodating solar PV generation and storage.
• Establish relationship with potential partners to finance and build these projects.
• Originate new projects to enhance the portfolio in the Kenya.

Education and Technical Skills Level

• Experience in developping renewable assets in the Kenya
• Have excellent planning and organisational skills
• Driven and self-motivated with strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
• Track record in successful delivery of projects, including land negotiation, grid connection negotiation, planning consent, PPA negotiation, engineering and construction monitoring.
• Awareness of Health and Safety rules and culture applicable for renewable asset development and construction.

Required Soft Skills (autonomy level, responsibility level, accuracy, interpersonal skills

• Wide network of relationship in the field of renewables
• Good understanding of the financial drivers in the renewable business.
• Strong ability to report to an international organization with transverse skills.
• Ability to manage staff and external consultants with people skills.
