    Dorm Matron

    Job Summary:

    • The purpose of this job is to ensure the welfare and well-being of boarders in the school environment by providing close supervision, care, and guidance to students, ensuring a high level of hygiene, and maintaining a safe, secure, and nurturing living and studying environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring the safety and security of students at all times, and responding appropriately in emergencies or incidents.
    • Supervising students' daily routines, including wake-up and bedtime, meals, study times, and recreational activities.
    • Providing pastoral care and support to students, including listening to their concerns and offering advice and guidance when needed.
    • Providing new parents with appropriate information about the boarding house and applicable guidelines.
    • Maintaining a record of all incidents at the boarding house, including disciplinary issues, and escalating where necessary.
    • Reporting any facility damage to the relevant authorities and investigating to establish whether accidental or intentional.
    • Overseeing the health of students and reporting any sick students to the Boarding Master for medical attention.
    • Maintaining good communication with parents or guardians and keeping them informed about their child's well-being.
    • Encouraging and promoting positive behavior and attitudes among students and taking appropriate action to address any issues or conflicts that may arise.
    • Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and ensuring that boarding facilities are well-maintained and equipped with necessary resources and amenities.
    • Performing any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Housekeeping from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
