Duty Manager, Nursing Administration Office at Aga Khan University Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and managerial support to staff in all departments at night
• Evaluate workload and staffing levels and where required allocate or re-assign resources to meet demand
• Assist in patient transfers in collaboration with Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Finance and the relevant mangers
• Facilitate resource acquisition and efficient utilization in response to patient, unit and departmental heads
• Respond and activate disaster management plan
• Investigate accidents/untoward incidences at the night and inform the relevant manager
• Inform the CNO of high risk and sensitive patients
• Participate in development and implementation of polices for improvement of patient care and safety
• Assist in the identification of clinical and management issues that require focused attention
• Assist in staff development through bedside teaching, skill checks, mentoring and appraisal

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution
• Valid practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
• Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• 5 years of continuous clinical experience
• Familiar with Hospital policies, procedures and processes
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking and to work with minimum supervision.
