    Credit Analyst

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Proactive monitoring of the credit portfolio to ensure early detection of problem credits.
    • Provide and analyze financial information for use in the preparation of credit reports
    • Review of credit requests including review of financial and credit information provided in respect to Commercial Banking clients
    • Assist in the financial evaluation of new business/projects and provide a guide on market risk.
    • Prepare credit reports for new proposals and renewals and provide guidance on structuring of credits, due diligence and KYC so as to ensure that credits meet EKE standards.
    • Maintain financial information on borrowing accounts including covenant monitoring
    • Monthly evaluate and interpret performance reports of Commercial Banking and assist in the assessment of progress against the department’s score card and budget
    • Undertake annual review of security documentation for all Commercial Banking accounts
    • Assess profitability of each relationship and generate monthly report on the same
    • Counter check that interest rates are correctly applied on all Credit facilities
    • Undertake at least one quarterly client visit with Relationship Managers, as per threshold communicated from time to time by Business Unit Head

    JOB PROFILE

    Experience & Qualifications

    • University degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Management
    • Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers (or equivalent) strong advantage
    • Data analysis and / or modelling qualifications preferred
    • At least three years banking experience is preferred
    • Working knowledge of The Group Credit Policy & Procedures Manual (GCPPM) is an added advantage
    • Working knowledge of IFRS 9 is an added advantage Skills, Capabilities & Personal attributes
    • Credit and Financial analysis skills to effectively perform credit analysis and portfolio maintenance activities/tasks in a manner that consistently achieves high quality standards or benchmarks.
    • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.
    • Knowledge of lending business and products
    • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
    • Self-empowerment to enable development of open communication, teamwork and trust that are needed to support performance and customer-service oriented.
