The Education Project Coordinator position is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing education programmes. This role involves coordinating efforts among stakeholders to ensure that the education programmes are delivered effectively and meet their goals
Responsibilities
Oversee implementation of education projects in both the refugee camps and host community.
Day to day support to education programme team at field level in developing clear work plans and targets and following up on implementation.
Coordination, including adequate representation and participation of NRC in all relevant coordination forums.
Performance monitoring of projects, with clear support to project officers, assistants, centre supervisors and teacher in implementing planned activities.
Timely and quality reporting of education interventions both internal and to donors.
Budget holding responsibility from developing budgets and monitoring to ensure it is implemented as planned within NRC and donor requirements.
Work closely with internal and external partners, including donors, World Bank teams, Ministry of Education, and other INGOs, to facilitate collaboration and ensure project alignment.
Track project progress against deliverables, budgets, and timelines, ensuring adherence to donor guidelines and performance indicators.
Regularly prepare progress reports, presentations, and status updates for donors, and maintain thorough documentation of all activities and meetings.
Conduct field visits to monitor service quality and adherence to NRC Kenya’s strategies and guidelines.
Promote lessons learned and best practices within NRC and among stakeholders.
Act as the main liaison for NRC, donors, schools, teachers, parents, and community members to streamline communication and address stakeholder needs effectively.

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise
Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented technical competences related to the position’s responsibilities
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Strong analytical, administration and documentation skills in the management of educational institutions or programs consisting of primary education.
Possess high cultural awareness and sensitivity
Knowledge of Human Rights and Humanitarian programming principle
Fluency in English language both written and verbal
