    Election Technologies Analyst Assistant

    Responsibilities

    • possesses a university degree in law or adequate training and relevant work experience for the position.

    GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Under the direct supervision of the Election Technologies Analyst, the incumbent will assist with the following tasks:

    1. Assist the Election Technologies Analyst in assessing the transmission of results process in the general elections looking at technology systems used, with special focus on their contribution to the integrity and transparency of Election Day and following days operations.
    2. Assist the Election Technologies Analyst in assessing the impact of election technologies on election preparations
    3. Assist the Election Technologies Analyst in assessing the likely effectiveness and risks of use of the electronic transmission system, covering also system audits, contingency plans and testing of the system, including its scalability on e-day, training plans for system operators ahead of the general elections
    4. Assist the Election Technologies Analyst in assessing work done by stakeholders to address possible weaknesses, security vulnerabilities and issues of concern for its improvement.
    5. Assist the Election Technologies Analyst in examining the benefits of electronic results transmission versus manual tabulation, in particular in terms of cost and reliability, transparency, timeliness and accuracy.
    6. Contribute to the preparation of relevant reports.
    7. Attend meetings as requested.
    8. Any other tasks as may be required

    Method of Application

    Applicants must be available from 21 June 2022 to 09 October 2022 (depending on the role and the election calendar)

    • For all positions, an appropriate linguistic competence in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, for certain positions languages spoken regionally will be required too.
    • All candidates must have sufficient computer skills to operate with electronic mail, word processing, public presentation, and spreadsheet software.
    • Flexibility required. Work is expected on occasions both in the evening and weekends.
    • Place of work is Nairobi and, for some positions, different postings around the country.
