Duties and Responsibilities

1. Diagnose electrical problems using diagrams or blueprints.
2. Install and repair electrical systems using the specification diagrams provided.
3. Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests on all projects before they are ferried to site.
4. Pinpoint problems using a range of testing devices.
5. Safely use various hand and power tools.
6. Help in planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
7. Be accountable for all project materials and tools issued to each project and ensure correct utilization of the same.
8. Help in other departmental works as may be directed by your supervisor to achieve company targets.
9. Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code and all applicable standards such as Occupational Health and Safety Act.
10. Supervise and train others in the installation and repair of electrical components.

Person Specification

1. Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of Electrician experience in an industrial or commercial setting. Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment
2. Possess a journeyman card or be able to maintain one within 90 days of employment.
3. Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book.
4. Experienced in handling low to high voltage
5. Experience in medium voltage a plus Strong knowledge in installing and troubleshooting of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components a plus
6. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
7. Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification
8. Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing
9. Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed
10. Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures
11. Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
