    Employee Relations Officer

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head. Employee Relations & Staff Welfare, the ideal candidate will be required to provide financial analysis and budget support. He/she will also manage welfare, medical assurance services as well as managing CSR projects and coordination of group wide CSR activities.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    • Provide expert, timely and relevant advice to HR Management on financial implications on existing head counts, new roles and filling of existing vacancies.
    • Review the monthly cost centre reports for HR and alert management on budgetary overruns and ensure expenditure discipline to maximize company profits.
    • Compile HR budgets and periodical forecasts to set targets for management in performance evaluation and control.
    • Analyze on a monthly basis the AON Minet fund replenishment scheme and other medical insurance schemes for employees and directors for monitoring and control purposes.
    • Prepare budget, implement, monitor and evaluate CSR Projects.
    • Provide guidance on grievance and dispute resolutions.
    • Develop, plan and implement staff welfare programs in accordance with the company policies.
    • Source for cost effective employee insurances and ensure speedy claim settlement concerning medical injuries, death of employees and dependants.
    • Compile monthly reports from HR Group on KQ Dashboard in accordance with targets set at the beginning of each financial year.
    • Participate in CBA and management negotiations by preparing relevant financial computations such as return to work formulae scenarios, leave pay computations ,etc.
    • Support and monitor ER projects to ensure that they meet stated objectives.
    • Manage Employee Relations help desk to ensure excellence customer service.
    • Coordinate WCO Activities for ER Section.

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree inCommerce - Accounting/Business Administration from a recognized university.
    • Diploma in Human Resource from a recognized institution.
    • Must possess full accounting qualification (CPA (K).
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience; 2 years in Finance, preferably Management Accounting; 1 year in Human Resource.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and project management and advanced computer skills.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and great a team player.
    • Resilience – ability to remain calm, stable, and maintain self-control in potentially emotional situations.
    • Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.
    • Must be a person of unquestionable integrity.
