Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities at on an Engineering Technician will involve: -

• Collecting baseline data for water and sanitation planning;
• Identifying sites for water and sanitation structures;
• Assisting to conduct preliminary topographic, hydrological, socio economic surveys;
• Assist in data collection for water and sanitation demand estimation;
• Assist in preparation of Feasibility Study Reports;
• Participate in site inspections;
• Assist in preparation of payment certificates; 
• Assist in implementation of projects;
• Participate in the development of departmental budgets and annual work plans; 
• Assist in preparing project progress reports;
• Participate in stakeholder consultative forums;
• Participate in assessment of water and sanitation facilities;
• Assist in project proposal development;
• Participate in commissioning of completed projects;
• Assist in preparation of project designs;

NB. The Engineering Technician will serve on rotational basis in all the technical sections in the Agency in order to acquire the necessary skills and competence.

Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

• A Diploma in Civil/Water/Structural Engineering;
• Be registered as Engineering Technician by the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB); 
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications;
• Proficiency in Auto-CAD and other draughting computer applications;
• Demonstrated competence in work performance and results; and
