Environmental specialist (Tier 2) at Flour Corporation

Job Description

• Provides functional, technical and administrative support within the Environmental function. Assists in administering policies and procedures in support of the Company's environmental strategies, including but not limited to: waste management, pollution prevention and waste minimization, permitting assistance, hazardous materials compliance, UST/AST compliance, air and water compliance issues, aspects of environmental management systems, and assistance with other general environmental tasks.
• May support or conduct training and audit activities that ensure regulatory compliance.
• May assist in providing technical guidance, preparing reports or presentations, and interpreting data or findings, as assigned. Maintains familiarity with most environmental regulations and issues. May assist in HAZMAT response or other fieldwork.
• May include activities to support the transportation of hazardous waste. Performs administrative or other support as required. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

• Technical (2-year) degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and four (4) years to seven (7) years related experience.

Other Job Requirements

• Requires technical skills and proficiency using email, Microsoft Office or specialized applications as necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. Position requires 40 Hr Hazardous Waste Operations (Hazwoper) certification and ability to maintain annual recertification.
