Executive Director at African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD)

Key Duties and Responsibilities shall include: –

• Oversee the day-to-day business of the institute’s Secretariat, finances including preparation of the institute’s budget, activities and development across the member countries.
• Strategic planning, public relations, linkages and fund-raising activities of the institute.
• Compile annually or at such intervals as the Governing Board may decide, a report on the activities of the institute.
• Perform any other such duties and functions as required by the Governing Board.

Qualifications and experience

• Applicants should have a Doctorate in either of the following disciplines: Agricultural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Natural Sciences or Humanities and Social Sciences.
• At least ten years teaching/research and/or administrative experience at a University or Research Institution is required and should presently be at the level/rank of Associate Professor or above.
• The successful applicant must have extensive and proven leadership ability and good interpersonal relations and communication skills.
• He/she must have demonstrated ability to attract and manage research funds with proven global collaboration track record.
