    Field Enumerators, Department of Population Health

    This is a collaborative project between AKU-DPH and the University of Michigan on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among community health workers volunteers in Kaloleni-Rabai sub-counties of Kilifi. 

    Reponsibilities:

    • Coordinate with the supervisor on how to conduct the data collection and report the work done daily
    • Check that the material necessary to carry out the survey is sufficient and appropriate
    • Ask questions in a clear and kind manner, and ask all questions exactly as worded
    • Probe to clarify unclear answers
    • Enter the responses in an ordinate and clear way, recording responses accurately 
    • Double check and revise the survey tool at the end of the session with a participant to correct mistakes and sign off on completed survey tools as verification of accuracy of the survey
    • Ensure all interviews are successfully uploaded to the server at the end of each day’s work

    Requirements

    • At least KCSE qualification with a minimum of 1 year experience in collecting data using electronic questionnaire (e.g. ODK, KoBo)
    • Tertiary education, preferably in a Health-related background is desired
    • Training in Public Health, Epidemiology, Demography or related field is an added advantage
    • Fluent in English and Swahili
    • Use of electronic data capture in community based/healthcare workers survey in the recent past is a key requirement
    • Experience working with healthcare workers
    • Personable and able to build trusting relationships
    • Able to use the recent technology objects- Tablets
    • Good skills in ICT-Computer literate
    • Able to remain impartial and maintain confidence 
    • Able to elicit information without leading the interviewee
