Field Officers at Greenforest Foods Ltd

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in organizing and planning of community gatherings, farmer mobilizations and farmer trainings.
• Supervise recruitment and onboarding of farmers within the stated region.
• Support farmers by regularly visiting their farms.
• Provide extension services to farmers (compliance checks)
• Coordinate linking of farmers to input suppliers and service providers.
• Responsibly take care of the assigned resources and company project equipment for use in the field.
• Manage the distribution of seeds to contracted farmers.
• Guide the KEPHIS team on inspection of farmers.
• Preparation of daily field reports and monthly timesheets
• Regular updating of all farmer details in the management information system
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with community leaders, agricultural officers, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture
• Minimum of 3 years in similar role offering direct support to farmers.
• Knowledgeable and well versed with specificities of crop production and able to conduct farmer trainings to improve their agricultural productivity.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Swahili
• Knowledge of local languages is desirable but not mandatory in these regions (Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and Lower Eastern)
• Ability to work without close supervision.
• Willingness to work in dynamic and rural settings.
• A valid motorcycle license is required.
