    Finance and Operations Manager (FOM)

    Overview

The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day effectiveness of iDE Kenya’s financial and operational functions. This includes managing finance systems, supporting budgeting processes, ensuring compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and overseeing administrative logistics. The Finance and Operations Manager will have a strong initial focus on accounting and financial management. This position is particularly crucial as iDE explores transitions from operating through an Employer of Record to establishing a formal registered entity in Kenya. The FOM will collaborate closely with the Country Team Lead and the Regional Finance Manager (RFM) to ensure efficient resource utilization, operational coordination, and financial accountability.

    • Liaise regularly with the Regional Finance Manager to ensure alignment with iDE’s financial procedures and donor requirements.
    • Support external and internal audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
    • Ensure compliance with Kenya tax and statutory reporting requirements, as applicable for the non-profit sector upon registration in Kenya.
    • Ensure financial activities comply with donor requirements and iDE policies, especially for restricted funding and multi-year grants.

    • Assist in the drafting, review, and updating of country-specific policies and SOPs to align with Kenyan regulations and iDE’s operational requirements.
    • Establish and maintain controls to ensure compliance with local laws, donor requirements, and iDE financial and operational policies and procedures.
