    Finance Officer I (1) Post

    REF:NGEC/HR/9/7/2023

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • An officer at this level will be responsible for the following duties: 
    • Participating in the preparation of the Commission’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF); 
    • Participating in the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with all departments/units; 
    • Participating in the allocation and utilization of financial resources
    • Participating in forecasting and monitoring expenditure; 
    • Prioritizing projects and activities for the purpose of financial allocations in the budget; 
    • Preparing periodic financial reports; and
    • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and work plans.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    • Served in the grade of Finance Officer II for a minimum period of three(3) years;
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce (Finance Option), Business Administration (Finance Option) or any other relevant and comparable qualification from a recognized institution; 
    • Attended a supervisory skills course in a recognized institution; 
    • Knowledge in computerized financial management systems;
    • Met the requirements of chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya, 2010; 
    • Been a Member of a relevant professional body where applicable; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    The office is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    All applications MUST BE SUBMITTED IN HARD COPY ONLY, CLEARLY INDICATING THE POST ON THE ENVELOPE to reach the Commission on or before 31st July 2023 at 5:00pm East African Time (EAT).
