    Financial Accountant

    MRM Mariakani is seeking to recruit a professional and experienced Financial Accountant. He/She must posses excellent communication and organisational skills. The position reports to the Finance Manager.


    1. Maintain control of the following areas; General ledger, expense report, billing and payroll
    2. Assist in coordinating preparation of the Audited Financial Statements and income tax returns
    3. Monitor and correct any accounting discrepancies on monthly basis
    4. Prepare and scrutinize GL schedules on monthly basis
    5. Analyse transactions, preparing required journals and ensuring that all accounting entries are well supported
    6. Ensure timely reconciliations of all bank accounts.
    7. Handle company Insurance policies and claims process
    8. Maintain Fixed Assets register
    9. Prepare VAT Return workings and related reconciliations
    10. Manage inventory reconciliation
    11. Assist in annual budgeting process
    12. Assist in providing data for the Board pack.
    13. Keep up to-date with financial policies, practices and regulations
    14. Any other work that may be assigned by the management

    Qualifications required:

    1. Minimum academic qualification: BBA/BCOM – Finance/Accounting option
    2. Qualifications as an added advantage: CPA (K), CFA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent
    3. Professional registration: ICPAK

    Experience required:

    1. General work experience (years): 10 – 15 years
    2. Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 10 years
    3. Industry: Manufacturing
    4. Knowledge and use of SAP will be an added advantage

    8. Skilled in strategy and business development
    9. Strong organizing & planning skills
