This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Accountant located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for creating and reviewing financial statements, performing analytical tasks related to finance, utilizing accounting software, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Other day-to-day tasks may include financial record management, budget forecasting, and audits.
Responsibilities:
Financial Record-keeping: Maintaining and updating financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into business performance.Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, general ledgers, and accounts to ensure accuracy.Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.Constant awareness on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Audit Support: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.Provide documentation and support during audit processes.
Budgeting: Collaborate with management to develop and manage budgets.Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial operations.Implement best practices for financial management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPAK Qualification/ ACCA (finalist) is required.
At least 3 years of experience in an accounting role.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel is required.
Experience in creating financial statements and financial reporting
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Analytical skills and experience in financial reviews
Proficiency in using accounting software will be an added advantage.
