Founding Engineer: Backend at Shamiri Institute

Opportunity

As founding engineer, you’ll take on the responsibilities of a founder. You’ll help us build and scale our platform from hundreds to millions of users.

• A true software leadership role within a tech startup that will combine software development and leading early team members (80% execution and 20% strategy + management).
• You will design daily activities that support product development to help achieve big picture goals.
• You will work directly with the founders to lead the engineering efforts to help shape and execute the product roadmap.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Architect and build our core mobile (android and iOS) and web product.
• Engineer efficient and reusable systems that drive complex mobile and web applications
• Deploy and distribute mobile and web applications
• Build and maintain backend database and infrastructure
• Maintain HIPAA and GDPR compliance and general security through best practice implementation
• Tackle tough design and product problems
• Work collaboratively with design and product to deliver delightful user experiences
• Write and maintain technical documentation, unit tests, and integration tests

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Flask, Node & REACT
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Experience with implementing CI/CD pipe lines
• Experience in deployment and distribution of production level mobile apps
• Experience with scaling relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and writing performant queries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Dialogflow and other NLP platforms
• Experience with implementing recommender system
