    Front End Engineer

    Purpose

    • The Front-end engineer customises Frappe Desk, builds the end-user Progressive Web App (PWA) on Frappe UI; owns offline-first behaviour. They develop the frontend according to priorities defined by the product owner and architects.

    Accountabilities & functional responsibilities

    • Designs, develops, and maintains the new Protection digital ecosystem frontend and PWA application using the Frappe Framework; 
    • Customizes Frappe Desk for advanced users (data managers, analysts, administrators);  
    • Performs acceptance by users of varying digital skills is an explicit design goal - interaction patterns, training-light flows, in-app guidance, and low-friction error handling;  
    • Provides guidance on design system extension and field-workflow UX patterns;  
    • Troubleshoots bugs, performance issues, and production incidents;  
    • Monitors frontend application performance, uptime, logs;  
    • Performs code reviews and maintains technical documentation;  
    • Collaborates with product owner, business experts, ICRC architects, UX team, external consultants, other member of the agile delivery team, and opensource communities;  
    • Anticipates UI and end-users’ needs, identifies and solves problems;  
    • Resolves assigned incidents and requests while ensuring resolution time commitments are met according to the service and operational level agreements.  

    What we will look for in your profile

    • Bachelor’s degree in IT engineering degree or equivalent. ITIL & DevOps certification is an asset; 
    • Minimum 5 years frontend UI dev skills, of which 2+ on Frappe UI (Vue) in production;  
    • Ability to understand and collaborate in the refinement of Functional Requirements, and design fit for purpose solution designs;  
    • Deep PWA / Service Workers / Background Sync experience; client-side persistence patterns; conflict UI; offline UX;  
    • Knowledge of Docker/Podman, Linux;  
    • Familiarity with Git version control;  
    • Frontend testing discipline;  
    • Right-To-Left (RTL) layouts, i18n;  
    • Excellent command (spoken and written) of English. Fluency in French is an advantage; 
    • Contribution to the Frappe UI ecosystem a strong plus; 
    • Experience working with Azure DevOps is a plus.

    • Type of Contract: 1-year Fixed term contract (renewable subject to Budget discussion and performance)
