Gas Plant Technician at Mabati Rolling Mills Limited (MRM)

MRM Mariakani is seeking to recruit a professional and experienced individual to fill the position of a Technician – Gas Plant. The position reports to Gas Plant Supervisor.

Main Purpose:

For the operations, inspection and oversight of Hydrogen and Nitrogen generating plants as and related distribution of gases to consumption points

Specification

1. Monitor equipment functionality, observing pressure, temperature, levels and flow at different stages in the gas production processes
2. Perform regular unit checks in order to ensure that all gas plant equipment are operating as required
3. Record all process parameters in shift log sheets provided.
4. Determine causes of abnormal pressure and temperature variances, as well as gas purity variances and making corrective recommendations/actions.
5. Control gas plant equipment’s to regulate flow and pressure of gas to the furnace and other consumption points
6. Report equipment malfunction to maintenance supervisors (mechanical and electrical) as well as to production engineer and collaborate with maintenance team for equipment repair/maintenance
7. g)Preform LPG off-loading process and its conveyance to consumption points at required pressures.
8. Sending Flash Report on matters patterning Gas Plants operations.
9. Preparation of LPG consumption reports.
10. Maintaining cleanliness at the gas generating plants. Implement and support 5K
11. Preparation and replenish of potassium hydroxide solution for hydrogen plant.
12. Working in a safe manner and reporting unsafe activity and conditions, Following the company’s safety policy and adhering to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the company’s safety policy.

Requirements

1. Minimum academic qualification: diploma in industrial production, chemical, mechanical or equivalent .
2. Qualification as an added advantage: Minimum of one year in gas generating plants
3. General working experience :(2years)
4. Specific to the position (level/discipline /years): 1year
5. Industry: steel/manufacturing
