    Gender Based Violence /Prep Lead

    Gender Based Violence /PrEP Lead: CHS/HR/STP/GBVPL/01/2022

    Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is an indigenous, not-for-profit organisation that utilises local expertise and strategic partnerships to ensure the implementation of evidence-informed solutions and interventions to existing and emerging public health concerns. CHS is currently sourcing for high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the following position a Gender based Violence /PrEP lead (CHS/HR/ STP/GBVPL/01/2022) in Siaya county under CHS Shinda Tena project.

     Overall Job Function

    The Gender Based Violence /PrEP Lead will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic expertise in Siaya County in close collaboration with the County, partners and other program leads to ensure effective implementation and supervision of GBV and PrEP activities.

     Key Responsibilities

    • To provide technical leadership in the planning and implementation of Gender Based Violence and PrEP related activities including GBV/HIV risk assessment, risk mitigation information dissemination and case management
    • Provide key technical guidance on GBV and PrEP to technical teams and providers in all program areas including DREAMS and Key population to ensure the efficient implementation of activities and the timely reporting of those activities to the organization and donors
    • Contribute to the development of GBV/PrEP program goals, objectives, strategies and results-based planning and implementation
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and collaborations with other implementing and technical partners including the Ministry of Health, partners, donors, clients and other stakeholders as required
    • Provide evidence-based interventions and initiate result based quality improvement plans
    • Helping to refine approaches for expanding access to post violence care and PrEP services, including PEP, legal justice and stigma associated with GBV
    • Work with other program leads, technical officers, in dissemination of PrEP information and violence prevention in all population
    • Serve as the focal person for networking and collaboration with county level TWGs and Court Users Committee on matters pertaining violence prevention and post violence care
    • Ensure linkage and follow up of violence survivors to relevant post violence services including PEP and PrEP
    • Monitor and supervise case management including forensic evidence management
    • Work with other program leads to ensure quality screening and linkage of GBV survivors and PrEP eligible clients
    • Assess progress and barriers to achievement of program implementation plans, recommend action for improvement or modifications to address problems, document and highlight results
    • Prepare relevant technical and progress reports and recommendations to improve program performance
    • Any other duty as may be assigned by your supervisor

    Person Specification

    • Degree in nursing, clinical medicine, social sciences or other health-related degree is required.
    • More than three years’ experience working on HIV programs with at least experience in GBV and HIV prevention programs.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of HIV prevention, management procedures, guidelines and violence prevention
    • Ability to coach, mentor and develop technical capacity of technical staff and providers.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, analyze, synthesize and provide recommendations on key technical issues.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, report writing and presentation skills.
    • Dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, report writing and analytical skills.
