GIS Web Engineer at Ramani Geosystems

Job Description:

• We are seeking a skilled GIS Web Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in OpenLayers, Vue.js, and Java Spring Boot to help us develop, maintain, and improve our geospatial web applications. The ideal candidate should have a passion for GIS technologies and be capable of working on both frontend and backend tasks. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality geospatial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain GIS web applications using OpenLayers and Vue.js.
• Develop and maintain microservices using Java Spring Boot.
• Integrate GIS data from various sources and formats.
• Optimize and enhance geospatial data visualization and analysis.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure an intuitive user experience.
• Develop and maintain documentation for GIS applications and workflows.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues related to GIS web applications and microservices.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in GIS development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in GIS development with OpenLayers and Vue.js.
• At least 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining microservices using Java Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related web technologies.
• Experience with geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, KML, Shapefiles).
• Familiarity with GIS software and tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
• Understanding of spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
• Knowledge of backend technologies (e.g. Python, Node.js).
•  Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
