Grant Writers at Kenya Youth Parliament for Water (KYPW)

Role Purpose & Impact

As a Grant Writer for the KYPW Grant Team, you turn strategic research into winning funding applications. Working directly with Grant Researchers and leadership, you will articulate KYPW's vision, draft compelling proposal narratives, build project Logical Frameworks (LogFrames), and construct project budget stories for global donors.

What You Will Do

• Draft full grant proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest (EOIs), and donor pitch decks.
• Develop project intervention logic, problem statements, target indicators, and Logical Frameworks.
• Collaborate with finance leads to structure clear project budget narratives and activity breakdowns.
• Tailor proposal text to match donor terminology, strategic goals, and compliance guidelines.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback from senior leadership prior to deadline submissions.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Demonstrated talent in technical writing, proposal development, storytelling, or communications.
• Ability to translate community water and sanitation needs into structured project intervention plans.
• High deadline sensitivity, self-discipline, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with collaborative tools (Google Docs, Notion, Slack).
• Commitment of 6–10 hours per week during proposal drafting cycles.

Nice to Have

• Prior involvement in successful non-profit or community grant applications.
• Experience drafting project monitoring & evaluation (M&E) frameworks.
