    Head-IT Enterprise Architect

    Role Purpose

    • The job holder will be responsible for leading and managing the technology strategy and architectural framework within the organization. The role holder will also play a crucial role in aligning technology solutions with business objectives, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

    Main Responsibilities

     Strategy:

    • Develop and maintain the IT enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with the organization's strategic goals, specifically focusing on industry requirements.
    • Provide expert guidance and recommendations on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to drive innovation and digital transformation.
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including business leaders, to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions and architectural designs specific to the insurance industry.

    Operational:

    • Define and enforce IT architecture standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient technology implementations.
    • Evaluate existing IT systems, applications, and infrastructure, to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions for business units, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and scalability.

    Corporate Governance (Regulatory and Compliance):

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, data privacy, security, and governance requirements.
    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to address regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations.
    • Monitor and assess technology-related risks specific to the insurance industry and implement necessary controls to safeguard the organization's assets and sensitive data.

    Leadership and Culture:

    • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the IT architecture team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units, particularly business units, to promote a unified vision and drive technology initiatives.
    • Champion the adoption of enterprise architecture principles and methodologies within the various units to drive consistency and standardization across technology solutions.

    Key Competencies and Skills

    • Strategic thinking and visioning within the industry.
    • Ability to translate insurance business requirements into technology solutions.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills in an insurance context.
    • Risk assessment and mitigation specific to insurance operations.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) and insurance-specific certifications (e.g., insurance operations, regulations) are highly desirable.

    Relevant Experience

    • Proven experience (8 years) as an IT Enterprise Architect or similar role.
    • Proven experience in enterprise architecture planning and implementation in a complex organization.
    • Experience in leading and managing a team of IT architects.
