Head of Application Development at HighSpeed Office Kenya (HSO Kenya)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Application Development to lead our dynamic team and drive our application development efforts.

Job Summary:

As the Head of Application Development, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of all software applications within our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software solutions. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality applications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of application developers, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Define and implement the application development strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications for the development team.
• Oversee the design, coding, testing, and deployment of software applications, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Monitor the performance of applications, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in application development, and evaluate their potential for implementation within the organization.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements throughout the application development process.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and dependencies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Head of Application Development or similar role, with a minimum of years of experience in leading application development teams.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, and experience with related tools and frameworks.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C#. Net, React, Angular, and familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
