The ideal candidate will have many years of experience in climate strategy, sustainable finance, or carbon project development, ideally within African markets. They should have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and executing climate-related projects in a technology-driven environment
The candidate should possess a deep understanding of decarbonization strategies, carbon markets, and sustainability frameworks such as Net Zero and science-based targets. They should also be familiar with ESG principles, carbon trading systems, and climate-related regulatory requirements, and be proficient in using data tools for sustainability reporting and carbon measurement.
Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, excellent communication skills are necessary to engage with senior management, investors, and external partners effectively.
