Head of Facilities Management at United States International University - USIU Africa

Job Summary

• The job holder is responsible for directing, managing and providing leadership in Facilities Management at strategic and technical levels with responsibility for offering support services in areas of Infrastructure & capital constructions development projects, facilities maintenance, cafeteria and Transport services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facilities, cafeteria, and transport.
• Ensure effective maintenance of facilities, buildings, electrical & mechanical equipment, utilities to ensure 100% availability of services.
• Manage projects (new and existing) and coordinating with consultants and contractors.
• Liaise with external institutions and Government Agencies in ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.
• Manage and coordinate cafeteria activities to ensure quality food is availed to the University community.
• Manage and coordinate transport activities to ensure quality services are availed to the University community.
• Ensure adherence and implementation of environmental, and safety measures and all statutory requirements in accordance with regulations and existing law.
• Liaise with external institutions and Government Agencies in ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.
• Develop and coordinate implementation of energy efficiency programs and opportunities with aim of achieving energy savings.
• Liaise with external institutions and Government Agencies in ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.

Job Specifications:
Academic Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication

Registered as an Engineer by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)

• Member of a relevant professional body.

Work Experience Required

• Minimum of seven (7) years overall experience and out of which at least two (2) year should be at supervisory level.
