The Role
The Head of College (HOC), reporting the Headmaster, is a member of the Senior School Management Team (SSMT) and leads on many vital aspects of the Sixth Form.
Alongside more generic duties connected to being a member of the SSMT, responsibilities of the HOC include leading various teams involved in the College, monitoring and supporting the academic progress of all College students, and taking responsibility for the transitions into the College and to destinations beyond.
The successful candidate will be leading a Sixth Form with motivated and aspirational students, with a track record of supporting students to gain entry to some of the most prestigious institutions across the world.
Please note that, while this is a significant whole school responsibility, the successful candidate will also have up to a 0.7 teaching timetable. With departing staff teaching in the Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics and Sociology (teaching posts to be advertised separately), an ability to teach one of these would be an advantage – but for the right candidate there is flexibility to teach other specialisms.
