    Head of Student Recruitment

    Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. To lead student recruitment activities at the University
    2. To promote, monitor, analyse and report on the effectiveness of student recruitment to meet institutional strategic aims.
    3. To raise the University’s profile through continued and innovative media profiling, public and press relations, promotional events and materials, including through the management of the website and social media development.
    4. To lead on CUEA’s marketing, advertising strategies and implementation of student recruitment strategy.
    5. To develop the annual student recruitment plan in accordance with the University’s strategic framework.
    6. To develop integrated communications messages from start to end of the student recruitment cycle.
    7. To hold institutional responsibility for corporate marketing to support recruitment to the offer, enhance the brand and profile.
    8. To hold institutional responsibility for internal and external communications, Public Relations, in support of the strategy plan; developing consistency and quality in the key messages for internal and external audiences and stakeholders with all marketing assets
    9. To plan and manage the annual budget for recruitment and marketing.
    10. To develop and lead CUEA’s outreach strategy, coordinate school, parish and college engagement.
    11. To ensure the integration of all courses in the recruitment and marketing activity in collaboration with DVC Academics, Deans and other Heads.
    12. To advise the University on matters of recruitment management, International marketing, widening participation, PR, events and promotions, including competitor performance, to enhance the profile of the University and meet recruitment targets.
    13. To undertake research and market analysis in AMECEA region
    14. To maintain the University prospectus, website and social media
    15. To maintain key performance matrix for the unit and unit team members
    16. To form effective working relationships and collaboration with academic staff for the promotion of the brand, marketing activity and event management.
    17. To plan and manage University events and promotions in support of raising the University’s profile and the recruitment pipeline, e.g. Graduation ceremonies, exhibitions and open days.
    18. To oversee the organisation and production of cohesive marketing materials to promote an all-through offer, while being sensitive to different target audiences and the University’s equalities strategy.
    19. To ensure that effective policy, procedures and processes are in place in relation to all key areas of work, aligned to institutional strategy and oversight of effective risk management.
    20. To have line management responsibility for the department’s services and functions providing overall leadership of all staff within the department and encourage effective working and relationships between teams.
    21. To hold responsibility for the effective organisation, deployment and performance of all staff in the department and to foster and facilitate a supportive environment for staff development.
    22. To meet University targets on admissions and contribute to the high profile and reputation of CUEA.
    23. To provide exceptional leadership and hold accountability for the delivery of key targets as required by the strategic framework
    24. To oversee and lead the university’s outreach strategy to achieve access and participation targets set by the office for Students
    25. To ensure that marketing activity supports the international student’s recruitment and reputation of the university and, where resource is available, support the activities of the student shows and performances.
    26. To collaborate with Deans and other heads in delivering exceptional performance
    27. Adherence to the Audit process
    28. Maintain an awareness of developments in Student Finance and the Higher Education sector.
    29. Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies and written materials
    30. Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between the university and local school systems throughout AMECEA region.
    31. Creates a database of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates in AMECEA region.
    32. Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs, develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs;develops strategies for program evaluation
    33. Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

    Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competences:

    1. Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Management or relevant field from a recognized institution. Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
    2. At least 5 years’ experience in student recruitment and sales, collaborations and international linkages in a similar position, preferably in the higher education sector.
    3. Experience and proven ability of working with young people
    4. Experience of developing and delivering events and organising group activities for a variety of audiences
    5. Experience of developing innovative solutions that meet or exceed targets
    6. An excellent ability to communicate effectively with various individuals and groups, including senior leaders
    7. A proven ability to deal with a varied and complex workload, including the ability to organise you own workload, prioritising a variety of tasks while working under pressure and to strict deadlines. Ability to use all Microsoft Office packages
    8. Experience of delivering engaging, persuasive presentations
    9. Ability to work as part of a team
    10. Able to represent the University with enthusiasm and integrity to applicants and their advisors as well to external organisations
    11. Self-motivated to work independently without close supervision, using own initiative to resolve problems
    12. A positive, energetic attitude
    13. Ability to merge sales pipeline on CRM software and provide reports
