    HR Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Human Resources (HR) Officer is an individual contributor role providing organizational HR support to employees in an Open Society-Africa office(s). This role works collaboratively with the HR Manager and supports departments by providing guidance and support to managers and staff.

    The HR Officer reports directly to the HR Manager and supports the implementation of the HR strategy and alignment of people practice to national legislation, in consultation with the HR Manager.

    As a Human Resources Officer at Open Society-Africa, you will be responsible for:

    • Talent Management
    • Compensation and Benefits
    • Labor Relations
    • Training and Development
    • Employee Relations
    • Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
    • Compliance
    • Data Collection/Information Gathering
    • Improvement/Innovation

    TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Assessment, Employee Relations, Managing Change, Negotiation, Planning and Organizing, Service Delivery, and Writing Skills.

    INDIVIDUAL COMPETENCIES

    • Advancing Diversity and Inclusion, Expertise, Getting the Right Things Done, Leading Change, Managing Time and Money, Strategic Thinking, Working Well with OSF Colleagues, and Working Well with Others.

    EDUCATION          

    • Relevant degree.

    EXPERIENCE        

    • Minimum number years of relevant working experience—5 years.
    • Demonstratable knowledge of West African labor laws.
    • Knowledge of the HR/OD principles and procedures.

    LANGUAGE: Preference will be given to applicants who are fluent in both English and French.
