    Human Resources Assistant

    Competencies

    Professionalism: knowledge of Human Resources staff rules and regulations and process and database management. Ability to manage processes, maintain accurate records, interpret/analyses a wide variety of Human Resources data, and identify/resolve data discrepancies and activity problems. Shows pride in work and in achievements; demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations. Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.

    Teamwork: Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; Solicits input by genuinely valuing others' ideas and expertise; is willing to learn from others; Places team agenda before personal agenda; Supports and acts in accordance with final group decision, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect own position; Shares credit for team accomplishments and accepts joint responsibility for team shortcomings.

    Education

    • High school or equivalent diploma is required. Technical or vocational certificate in human resources, business administration or personnel administration is required.

    Work Experience

    • At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management or other related fields is required.
    • Hands on and extended working experience in staff recruitment process and administration of staff entitlements is required.
    • Hands-on and extended working experience of ERP and Talent Management system is required.
    • Working experience in the interpretation of United Nations human resources policies, rules and regulations is required.

    Languages

    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required.
