    Business Development Service Provider

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide business development support to the Microentrepreneurs, this support will depend on specific need of each group or individual. This may include record keeping, marketing, branding among others as indicated in the Light for the World Business Development Services manual.
    • Following up the group and individual businesses and informing the project on their progress. You will be expected to conduct regular physical visits to the business sites and make phone calls with the micro-entrepreneurs.
    • Collecting regular beneficiaries’ feedback and complains on the business progress.
    • Ensuring proper use of the business seed capital issued by the Light for the World Kenya to the Micro-entrepreneurs.
    • Working closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities.
    • Supporting the Micro-entrepreneurs in obtaining procurement opportunities at the County level by linking up with lead business partners who will provide these opportunities. You will be expected to liaise with the business development lead in mapping out and engaging potential Lead business partners prior to the linkage.
    • Preparing and submitting timely field activity reports.
    • Contributing to the development of donor reports.
    • Collecting and updating beneficiary data using activity info platform.
    • Contributing towards development of project experiences, and lessons learnt of what is working well and what is not working well in the projects.
    • Sharing of success stories and project photos.
    • Representing Light for the World Kenya in county meetings and other relevant forums.
    • Plan regular meetings with key project partners and stakeholders.
    • Know, understand, apply and respect Light for the World code of conduct and ethic, mandate and values, rules and operating procedure, policies including the child protection policy, policy, and mechanism for the prevention of and fight against bribery, the safeguarding of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse policy.

    Requirements

    • Degree in any business-related field
    • 2 years experience working in the field
    • Must be based in Homabay County, Kenya
