For appointment to this grade

• An officer must have a Bachelor degree in Mining/Mineral processing Engineering or Civil Engineering from a university recognized in    Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities will include:-

• Being involved in inspection of mines, quarries and explosives;
• Prospecting and mining concessions;
• Undertaking simple mining engineering projects such as mines rehabilitations; and
• Study and familiarize with licensing procedures
