Intern-ICT Unit at Execafrica Recruitment Limited

Our client is seeking to recruit an intern within the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Unit. Under the supervision of the Head of ICT or delegated technical staff, the ICT Intern assists ICT staff to perform basic IT support work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Under IT staff guidance, create accounts and configure end-user computer /POS systems.
2. Assist in the maintenance of IT standards and documentation.
3. Use remote tools for maintenance and support of ICT systems.
4. Assist in configuring and setting up new fiscal machines.
5. Assist in the installation of applications (Clients) and documenting processes of installing fiscal devices.
6. Capable of interpreting ideas and suggesting appropriate network troubleshooting mechanism.
7. Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, hardware, and system management tools.
8. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
9. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
10. Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, hardware, and POS system management tools.
11. Manage and monitor all installed software/hardware systems.
12. Responsible for meeting daily maintenance service to achieve customer satisfaction through network availability.

Education/Qualification

• Diploma / BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunication engineering or related Qualifications.
• Understand customer and solution requirements and assist during surveys in the qualification processes by utilizing the company’s standard products and services portfolio.
• Be computer literate in standard software applications.
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Must enjoy working with a variety people and projects.
• Proven experience and thorough understanding of all stages of system lifecycle: design, support, implementation.
