    Post-Doctoral Fellow - Evaluation of Livestock Emergencies (ELE) Vaccination and Disease Surveillance

    Key Responsibilities

    •  Design and perform qualitative and quantitative evaluation studies to assess livestock health interventions including in remote locations
    •  Perform a desk review of the effect, impact and cost-effectiveness of livestock vaccination and health interventions performed during humanitarian crises across Africa
    •  Perform/conduct data analysis, write up, present and publish findings in scientific journals
    •  Support wider One Health work including with public and private animal health sectors, and capacity development
    •  Establish and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    •  Contribute to the development of proposals and resource mobilization efforts

    Requirements

    •  Veterinarian with a PhD and proven track record in animal health, and the below key Skills and experience
    •  Experience of two to four years of completing PhD
    •  Strong epidemiological and evaluation skills, particularly concerning programme delivery
    •  Experienced at performing animal health field studies, preferably in LMICs in Africa
    •  Ability to work with a One Health approach
    •  Experience with animal health economics
    •  Excellent standards of general and scientific writing
    •  Ability to work independently
    •  Ability to plan and organize research projects with partners in LMICs
    •  Experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with particular strengths in at least one of these areas
    •  Ability to work as a supportive team member
