IT Security Specialist at Hessons Consulting Group

As an IT Security Specialist at Hessons, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust cybersecurity strategies to protect our digital infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding sensitive data, identifying vulnerabilities, and mitigating potential threats to ensure business continuity and resilience. The ideal candidate should be a  strategic thinker with a passion for cybersecurity, exceptional technical expertise, and a proven track record of delivering effective IT security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security strategies to protect organizational systems and data.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability tests, and penetration testing.
• Monitor network and system activity for potential security breaches and respond swiftly to mitigate risks.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and awareness.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into system architecture and software development.
• Oversee incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of proven experience in IT security or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) are mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, and endpoint protection.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies and in-depth understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
