Aircraft Paint Mechanic at Kenya Airways

Job Purpose:

Reporting to Senior Engineer Structures & Paint Workshop, the ideal candidate will be required to carry out all assigned paint tasks on aircraft structure and components for all KQ fleet & third party operators and perform certification within company regulations at an optimized cost for the business whilst upholding high maintenance schedule integrity.

Principle Accountabilities;

• Carry out aircraft structure and component painting for optimal TAT to ensure continuous availability of serviceable aircraft
• that meets required standards under supervision.
• Carry out aircraft placards fabrication and replacements.
• Operate & maintain MRO section motorized equipment as per company procedures.
• Adhere to the company safety, health & environment policy to maintain company safety records, report incidents/accident
• occurrences as per company procedures to maintain our safety standards, carry out 5s audits, first aid & fire marshaling drills.
• Carry out security checks as per engineering security document annex 8 to maintain our security standards.
• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested by Paint Workshop supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and experience;

• Minimum “O” level Certificate/ KCSE qualification.
• Grade III trade test.
• Certificates in Paint vendor Trainings.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Paint work, tools and equipment use and maintenance in a reputable organization.
• Must have used Equipment & PPE for situation (e.g. Car lifts, Harnesses, Hardhats, Eye protection).
• Must have attended Health and Safety training.
• Demonstrable practical competence of basic paint work under supervision.
• Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.
• Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills.
• Must be a person of unquestionable integrity.
