    Key Account Manager

    Brief Description 

    Responsible for the identification, acquisition,implementation, development, and retention of new business for Kenya Airways inKenya

    Detailed Description

    • Manage and grow existing corporate accounts.
    • Prospect for new corporate contracted business
    • Manage and sustain high yields from Travel Agents. Develop profitable relationships with portfolio of travel trade suppliers to secure long-term business e.g., TMC Partners
    • Pursuit of government travel and MICE business opportunities.   
    • Mobilize promotion of KQ through IATA/Non-IATA Travel Agents and sustain maximum support to Kenya Airways.
    • Apply sales & marketing techniques to generate customer loyalty.
    • Create and maintain client database including information regarding productivity and potential.
    • Administer incentive in the market to maximize revenues.
    • Negotiate rates and conditions to secure profitable business flows
    • Gather and disseminate market intelligence to assure KQ’s competitive position
    • Organize promotional activity with appropriate organization for incremental business.
    • Ensure timely distribution of all promotional literature.
    • Attend industry related shows/seminars/exhibitions to ensure Kenya Airways retains high profile with Travel Agents.
    • Submit reports on agent performance and market intelligence.
    • Review and maintain QMS standards – with particular emphasis to Travel Agents’ queries
    • Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues to leverage the strength of the Partnerships/Codeshares.

    Job Requirements        

    • Graduate with minimum 4 (four) years in sale & marketing A or O level of education with minimum 7 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing with an emphasis on client contact and/or reservation/ticketing.
    • Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel
    • Convincing communication skills
    • Negotiation skills
    • Clean Driving License
    • Stamina, drive, self-motivation and a passion for customer service
    • Self-confident and results-orientated
    • Diplomacy and empathy
    • Flexible and innovative
    • Analytical with ability to prioritize
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
