Job Purpose

• To support the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Ensure proper waste disposal in accordance with hygiene standards.
• Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, storage areas, and washing stations.
• Ensure adequate supply of clean utensils and equipment during operations.
• Support stock handling and storage, including receiving deliveries.
• Always adhere to infection prevention and food safety guidelines.
• Report any maintenance or hygiene issues promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
• Certificate in Food Handling or Hygiene is an added advantage.
• Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment is preferred.
