Landscaping Supervisor at M-PESA Foundation Academy

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Facility, The landscaping supervisor, ensures that the grounds are aesthetically maintained with high standards, manage a team of ground attendants and make sure they are completing jobs in a satisfactory manner. The supervisor will also be responsible for aspects of the design and create a plan and schedule all of the tasks that must be completed. The supervisor will also keep track of the budget and all expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning, and organizing, all landscaping activities including maintaining existing mature lawns.
2. Scheduling workforce for optimal output.
3. Leading and allocating duties to ground men / women.
4. Source for new varieties of plants / flowers to enhanced the collection of plants at the Academy.
5. Organize for Planting and nurturing lawns and flower beds.
6. Planting and maintaining indoor plants.
7. Maintaining a nursery with flowers and plants for replenishing the grounds
8. Source for new plants/flowers to enhance the collection of plants at the academy including medicinal plants
9. Creating New Garden.
10. Supervise casuals to deliver new projects
11. Organize Overall works and raise requisitions
12. Preparation of annual budget for landscape, maintenance and rehabilitation of lawns and gardens

 Person’s Specifications

1. Education/Training: Two years of college level course work that includes, horticulture, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with special focus on landscaping on a large scale.
3. Knowledge of various plant and flower types and the climatic conditions that favor them
4. Knowledge of establishment of nursery.
5. Demonstrate experience  and commitment to landscaping.
6. Good communication skills (both written and spoken).
7. Strong organization skills.
8. Ability to produce accurate work.
9. Team player who is flexible with their work approach.
10. Demonstrate ability to perform duties responsibly under minimum supervision.
