    Tertiary Education Accountant

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Head of Finance; the Tertiary Education Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day reviewing of all financial transactions and records of the Tertiary Education section of the Academy to help assure accurate and complete accounting records and ensure smooth learning of students in various institutions of higher learning including preparation and interpretation of all relevant financial reports; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Process all Scholars fees in an efficient and timely manner.
    2. Process all Scholars stipends by 26th day of every month.
    3. On a monthly basis and in liaison with institutions of higher learning globally, ensure that all student fee statements are fully reconciled and updated.
    4. On a monthly basis and in liaison with providers of accommodation facilities to tertiary education students globally, reconcile and ensure that all service providers are paid on time, accounts are reconciled, and all queries are addressed.
    5. Monitor budget allocation for tertiary education, fund cashflow balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that accurate allocations, expenses are within budget limits.
    6. Preparation of Monthly expense vs approved budget variance analysis for reporting purposes.
    7. Maintain a financial management system for tertiary education that ensure integrity of the data captured in the system.
    8. Ensure adequate controls over cash TILL and tertiary education bank accounts and that these are constantly monitored and updated to minimize the risk of fraud or misappropriation.
    9. Support any system automation, enhancements, and customization of sage x3 ERP and tertiary education Information Management System
    10. Generate periodical financial reports on revenue, expenditure, and cash management.
    11. Supporting internal and external audits processes by providing schedules and other information as requested.
    12. Support in the budget preparation process for tertiary education.
    13. Summarize current financial status for tertiary fund by collecting information, preparing fund accounts and other reports.
    14. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
    15. Secure financial information by ensuring all student files are updated with complete documentation on their financial spending.
    16. Supporting Entrepreneurship coordinator in keeping accurate and up to date accounting records and preparation of student enterprise management accounts monthly.
    17. Reconciling all student bank accounts, monitoring transactions on an ongoing basis and discussing the same with Accountant, Head of Finance and EL Coordinator.
    18. Receiving all queries from students on their debit cards/bank accounts and addressing queries with the bank.
    19. Provide input into finance and Uongozi center department’s goal setting process and appraisal.
    20. Perform month-end and year-end close process.
    21. Continually develop, review and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
    22. Support the entrepreneurship program through teaching and coaching of students (both in class and experiential student enterprises) as allocated from term to term by the Entrepreneurship.

    Person’s Specifications

    1. A Business-related degree in Finance/Accounting or Equivalent
    2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
    3. CPA/ACCA Qualification or an equivalent post graduate qualification
    4. Work experience in an audit firm is desired
    5. Experience and (or) training in Sage x3 will be an added advantage

    Finance Associate – Payables (Maternity Cover)

    Job Description

    The role of the Finance Associate – Payables involves the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner. The role is thus responsible for complete payments and control of expenses by receiving payment requests and invoices, processing them, verifying and reconciling supplier accounts. This role is also responsible for supporting with the budgeting, procurement, stores and monthly management reporting processes and activities all which are inter-related with the payables cycle.

    Duties /Responsibilities:

    1. Processing all supplier payments monthly and ensuring that all expense ledgers in Sage x3 are fully reconciled by 1st working day of the following month.
    2. Handling all queries that are raised by suppliers and reconciling their accounts monthly.
    3. Ensuring that all academy pay bill and till number transactions are reconciled on a daily basis.
    4. Ensuring that all taxes accruing to the Academy out of the payables process are calculated and filled with KRA on time.
    5. Assist in Performing monthly bank reconciliations.
    6. Ensure all payables documents are complete and properly signed before filing.
    7. Supporting both internal and external audit processes by processing required documents and reconciliations.
    8. Participating in all automation projects involving payables process.
    9. Supporting with month end and year end reconciliation and preparation of management reports.
    10. Any other duties allocated by the Accountant and Head of Finance during the period.

    IT/Network Support Technician

    Job Description

    Configuring hardware and software, setting up peripherals such as  printers, projectors and Apple TVs, repairing equipment, and providing daily support for computer network users. He/She will be the first point of  support for staff and students, as well as keep an updated inventory of all academy ICT equipment and devices.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Will be the first point of call for student and staff support on hardware or network issues.
    2. Work with students and staff to identify and deliver required technical service.
    3. Liaise with, and provide training and support to, students and staff on computer/device operation and other issues.
    4. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
    5. Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
    6. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for students and staff, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
    7. Develop and maintain an inventory of all iPads, MacBooks, iMacs, Printers, Scanners, Copiers, Projectors and any other academy owned devices deployed to staff and students.
    8. Perform basic configuration and maintenance of the academy CISCO enterprise network systems and devices.

    Person’s Specifications

    1. Under Graduate degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or any other related field.
    2. At least 2 years user support working experience in a busy IT environment.
    3. CCNA (switching and routing) Certification
    4. Experience in configuring Cisco network Equipment (Routers, switches).

    High School Accountant

    Job Description

    14. Reviewing of monthly reconciliation of the academy sales.
    15. Ensuring an updated and fully reconciled fixed assets register of the academy is always kept.
    16. Supporting internal and external audits processes by providing schedules and other information as requested.
    17. Support in the budget preparation process for high school.
    18. Evaluation of employees’ performance.
    19. Summarize current financial status of academy enterprises (farm, facilities hire, catering etc.) by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
    20. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
    21. Proper record keeping and reporting for all academy projects i.e., construction etc.
    22. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures.
    23. Provide input into department’s goal setting process and staff appraisal.

    Landscaping Supervisor

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Head of Facility, The landscaping supervisor, ensures that the grounds are aesthetically maintained with high standards, manage a team of ground attendants and make sure they are completing jobs in a satisfactory manner. The supervisor will also be responsible for aspects of the design and create a plan and schedule all of the tasks that must be completed.     Dining Room Server

    Job Description

    Under the supervision of the Dining room Supervisor. The Dining Room Server is responsible for serving food and beverages in all the service venues and events.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Serving food and beverages at the dining room, offices and events.

    Receptionist

    Job Description

    Providing receptionist support to the school – being the first contact / front line in receiving visitors, staff and students to the school. To the school and assist the Admin departments by providing support for a range of office functions.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Providing receptionist service to the school, including:

    Tractor/Equipment Operator

    Job Description

    Under the guidance of the Landscaping Supervisor, the Tractor/Equipment Operator  primary responsibility will be to operate tractors, implements, and other farm machinery relating to the Landscaping. The role holder will also perform general fieldwork for the landscaping, as needed. She/he will work as part of the ground Attendants Team and report to the Landscaping Supervisor.

    Livestock Farm Supervisor

    Job Description

    The role of Livestock Farm Supervisor is to oversee and supervise farm operations at the livestock section such as; livestock management, fodder cultivation and other livestock related enterprises. The livestock Supervisor is responsible for supervising dairy and poultry attendants ; therefore leadership skills are highly beneficial.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Train and supervise farm workers in animal care procedures, maintenance duties, and safety precautions.
