Laundry Supervisor - AGC Tenwek Hospital at Interlink Management and Development Consultants

• The Laundry and Tailoring Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation of the hospital’s laundry and tailoring services at CTC for exceptional service delivery, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement in line with hospital policies and prevailing regulations.
• Develop strategic plans for the department, focusing on growth and efficiency.
• To develop tools that drive performance and to assess improvement of performance in Laundry.
• Ensure proper procedures and use of detergents to maintain hygiene and fabric integrity.
• Monitor the performance of laundry and tailoring operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Develop and maintain proper Linen Inventory management system throughout the hospital while ensuring cleanliness, neatness and enough supply at all times.
• Maintain proper records for handling tailoring activities, inventory of stocks while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team fostering a cohesive and unified organizational culture.
• Laundry day-to-day operations, supervision, management of performance and development of staff in the Unit.
• Facilitate implementation of the work plans for the following corporate initiatives in the Unit: Audit, Integrity, QMS, Risk Management and others.
• To monitor the department’s financial performance to aid in controlling costs while ensuring adequate supplies are on hand for smooth running of laundry and tailoring activities.
• To do daily inspection and supervision of Laundry and Tailoring activities within the hospital to ensure high degree of cleanliness and neatness.
• To plan, schedule and prepare work manuals and leave roster while ensuring adequate coverage of activities.
• To manage laundry & Tailoring store keys while ensuring proper storage of detergents, materials and other supplies.
• Development and management of the Unit’s work plan and budget and monitor laundry operations and expenditure to ensure compliance.
• Allocate duties to tailors based on priority with guidance of immediate supervisor.
• Ensure necessary policies and procedures are in place for effective laundry and tailoring operations.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all Laundry and Tailoring equipment for their optimum performance.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports to supervisor every month and when required.
• Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Academic qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality Management, or related field from a recognized institution
