    Lead Trainer, Online Pedagogy

    Reporting to the Director, USIU Online. The holder of this position will be responsible for reviewing curriculum and content, collaborate with partners in contextualization of content and pedagogical approaches as well as Coordinating facilitation activities with other trainers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review partner resources for content and curriculum for Online Pedagogy.
    • Collaboratively contextualize learning material for delivery to institutions in the network.
    • Coordinate facilitation activities and mentor trainees through the program with Assistant Trainers in areas related to Online Pedagogy.
    • Facilitate training sessions in areas related to Online Pedagogy and mentor peers to do the same on a train-the-trainer knowledge transfer model.
    • Facilitate program Monitoring and Evaluation activities

    Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

    • Earned PhD in content area
    • 10years experience in instruction at University level in both traditional face-to-face, and online delivery methodologies
    • Highly proficient in multiple Learning Management Systems
    • At least 5 years developing online curriculum, courses, and assessment tools
    • Faculty training experience especially in the African counties

    Personal Attributes & Competencies:

    • Strong practical technical skills in a wide variety of online technologies including but not limited to Mac, Windows, and mobile device operating systems; various academic software; various media development software,
    • Sound Knowledge of the teaching, learning, pedagogy, and faculty development.
    • Understanding of the use of LMS’s and other software and innovative technologies used in a fully online academic environment.
    • Willingness to troubleshoot problems and discover solutions to solving those problems.
    • Experience working in higher education in support of faculty.
    • Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English to effectively communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical individuals.
    • Demonstrated ability to work closely and carefully with all members of the USIU-A community to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy, professionalism and strong service.

    • Adaptability and reliability
    • A skillful team player
