    Lecturer, Continuing Professional Development (1 POSITION)

    Ref:  REF: KSL/HR06/2022 

    The specific duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

    1. Identifying the training and development needs of focus groups or professionals to be trained.
    2. Designing the training calendar in consultation with the Assistant Director;
    3. Developing and designing training resources and materials; this would include training notes and presentations, training materials and methodologies, e-learning materials, DVDs and videos to meet client’s needs;
    4. Disseminating, advertising and promoting the training programmes;
    5. Assisting in sourcing for consultancies and funding for training programs;
    6. Coordinating with the other Task Groups to organize training sessions as part of a larger event or conference.
    7. Training of paralegals and non-lawyer professionals in integrated legal issues to enhance effectiveness in the performance of their roles;
    8. Assisting in developing and carrying out sensitization on emerging legal issues to create awareness;
    9. Assisting in carrying out legal consultancy;
    10. Assisting in carrying out research on emerging legal issues.

    Job Requirements

    To qualify for this position, the applicant must have: –

    1.  At least four years’ post admission relevant work experience in public or private sector;
    2. Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL. B) from a recognized university;
    3. Postgraduate Diploma in Law;
    4. An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with current practicing certificate;
    5. Member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
    6. Proficiency in Computer Applications; and
    7. Meet requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

    Method of Application

    Selected candidates will be required to provide evidence of valid clearance by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Kenya Revenue Authority, a Credit Reference Bureau, Higher Education Loans Board and provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
