    Legal Clerk, Estate Plannng

    The Legal Clerk is responsible for providing technical support to the Estate Planning and Trust Services Sections, including registration of Trusts and drafting routine documents for trust registration and administration

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assisting in Preparing, reviewing and updating legal documents, operations & training manuals.
    • Handle communication with government authorities and registries.
    • Administratively support and attend Government offices including trusts, lands and documents registries.
    • Conduct investigations and documentary research.
    • Locate and develop relevant information regarding trusts.
    • Contacts various county and national government agencies to gather information.
    • Draft and file basic legal documents and correspondence.
    • Complete research for the Estate Planner and then prepare documents, draft correspondence, summarize records and findings and write up briefs, petitions and other legal documents.
    • Handle correspondences both in writing and orally with external Advocates, Third party Advocates
    • Conduct legal researches.
    • Receive legal documents.
    • Draft correspondences under the guidance of the Estate Planner.
    • Peruse lands/trust registry files as directed by the Estate Planner from time to time.
    • Attend to legal mails as may be assigned from time to time. Occasional Duties
    • Participating in internal ad-hoc committees.
    • Involved in the automation of business functions.

    Academic and Professional Qualification

    • Any relevant Degree
    • Well versed in Succession Law and Practice.
    • Strong teamwork and organization skills
    • Attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Creative problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills

    Experience

    • At least two (2) years’ experience
