    Manager, CEO Delivery Unit

    Job Purpose:

    Provide assistance to the Director General/CEO in the public sector and statutory engagements with the various Government of Kenya agencies, ministries and departments in collaboration with the relevant functional heads of the Institute, such as legal and regulatory affairs and in management of Institute’s resources.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work experience, three (3) years of which must be in Supervisory position;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Pharmacy, Life/Biological Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology), Analytical Chemistry, Health Sciences, Public Health/Environmental sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health, Commerce (Marketing), Business Administration, or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Pharmacy, Life/Biological Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology) Health Sciences, Public Health/Environmental sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Environmental Safety, Bio-risk management, Occupational Safety, and Health, or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • Membership to a professional body;
    • Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
    • Proficiency in computer applications

    Job Specification

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support the Director General/CEO in driving organizational vision, operational strategy and managing the Institute’s resources;
    • Assist the Director General/CEO in the public sector and statutory engagements with the various Government of Kenya agencies, ministries and departments in collaboration with the relevant functional heads of the Institute, such as legal and regulatory affairs;
    • Assist to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and planning for annual operations;
    • Oversee employee productivity, and supporting in building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met; and
    • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed as guided and in tandem with the Director General/CEO;
    • Spearhead strategies to steer the Institute’s future in a positive direction under guidance and direction from the Director General/CEO;
    • Prepare timely and accurate operational performance reports;
    • Assess operational continuous improvement processes and new technologies, and collaborating with relevant management regarding the implementation of these improvements.

    Terms of Service

    • The successful applicant will be appointed for five (5) year contract term renewable subject to satisfactory work performance and retirement age.
