    General Manager, Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Safety

    Job Purpose:        

    Ensure that the manufactured products are compliant with applicable regulatory and quality requirements, both national and international, and also to coordinate regulatory, safety, health, and environmental matters relating to the manufacturing activities.

    Requirements:

    • At least twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, four (4) years of which should have been in a senior management position in the public or private sector;

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of policies, strategies, standards, procedures, and guidelines on production;
    • Oversee the development and manufacture of vaccines, biologicals, and biomedical products that comply with local and international standards (such as World Health Organization, Pharmacy and Poisons Board, among others);
    • Spearhead the process of designing, planning, and implementation of Product Development and production;
    • Oversee planning, implementation, and management of biologicals and technologies development and production;

    Manager, Engineering Services

    Job Purpose:        

    To manage the Engineering function with a purpose of ensuring efficient production of health products and technologies through management and maintenance of production utilities, infrastructure, equipment and machinery while ensuring compliance with necessary regulations and policies.

    • Spearhead the development, implementation and review supply chain management and warehousing policies, plans and strategies that safeguard the transparency, accountability and integrity of the procurement, asset management and disposal processes of the Institute;
    • Provide professional and Advisory services on supply chain management to the Director General and the Board;
    • Oversee the Institute’s supply chain management processes in accordance with PPDA in an efficient and timely acquisition of goods, works, services and consultancies;
    • Advise the Institute on waste disposal in consultation with NEMA as per the Environment Management and Coordination (Toxic and Hazardous Industrial Chemicals and Materials Management) Regulations 2018;
    • Formulate strategies and policies for promotion of Local Manufacturers, Citizen Contractors (Buy Kenya Build Kenya Strategy), application of Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) reservation schemes (Youths, Women, PWDS and small and micro-enterprises) pursuant to Articles 55 & 56 of Constitution of 2010, PPAD Act 2015 and Regulations 2020;

    Principal Production Scientist

    Job Purpose:        

    Responsible for provision of relevant technical support in planning, preparing, fill and finish of the vaccine for distribution in line with the relevant policies, procedures and regulations

    Job Purpose:        

    Provide leadership in the quality control activities to ensure that the quality of all batches of products manufactured in the facility meets adopted pre-set standards and requirements both local and international.

    Requirements:

    Job Purpose:

    Senior Engineer

    Job Purpose:

    Carry out maintenance and repairs of all mechanical and refrigeration systems and machines of the corporation.

    Requirements 

    • A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience; 
    • Bachelors degree in any of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering; Manufacturing Engineering; Industrial Technology Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation and Control Engineering; 
    • Registered with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (EBK) or Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) and in good standing; 
    • Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution; 
    • AutoCAD drawing packages;
    • Proficiency in computer applications; and 
    • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

    Mechanical 

    • Coordinate engineering operations shift between all sections of production and ensuring maximum availability of mechanical equipment and plant; 
    • Ensure effective supervision of repairs and maintenance of all mechanical equipment to minimize downtime; 
    • Ensure preventive maintenance of all mechanical & refrigeration systems is carried out; 
    • Propose the annual operating and maintenance budget for mechanical section for approval; 
    • Ensure sufficient inventory of spares for all mechanical equipment;
    • Promptly attend to issues related to utilities (power, electricity, compressed air and water) supply and distribution to various sectors of plant; 
    • Ensure safe use of all mechanical workshop equipment, tools and accessories; 
    • Ensure statutory regulations are adhered to as far as mechanical equipment are concerned including inspections and repairs; 
    • Preparing Maintenance and sectional monthly report; and
    • Attend to emergencies in the plant. 

    Electrical 

    • Ensure efficient factory operations through provision of safe generation, distribution, utilization and control of electrical power; 
    • Ensure proper running and operation of all electrical equipment in the factory; 
    • Co-ordinate repairs and maintenance of all electrical / instruments equipment to minimize downtime; 
    • Ensure power from Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and own generation is of acceptable voltage and frequency; 
    • Carry out preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment and instruments; 
    • Propose annual operating and maintenance budget for electrical and instruments sections for approval;
    • Ensuring that there are sufficient spares for all electrical/ instruments equipment; 
    • Attend to issues related to power supply and distribution to company facilities;
    • Ensure safe use of all electrical equipment and accessories by workers;
    • Ensure safe working conditions and safety of workers by provision of accurate instruments; and 
    • Check and ensure that all instruments are calibrated as per statutory requirements.

    Senior Driver

    Job Purpose:        

    Provide a safe and professional driving of the CEO/Director General.

    Requirements

    • A minimum period of four (4) years relevant experience.
    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D+ (plus) or equivalent qualification;
    • Valid driving license free from any current endorsements for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive;
    • Passed Occupational Trade Test for Drivers Grade I from Kenya
    • Institute of Highway and Building Technology or any other recognized institution;
    • Defensive Driving certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of
    • Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade I from Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology or any other recognized institution;
    • First-Aid Refresher Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
    • Proficiency in computer application; and

    • Carry out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure etc.;
    • Detect malfunctioning of vehicles system;
    • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned;
    • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle;
    • Inducting and coaching drivers;
    • Ensure safety of the passengers and/or goods there in; and
    • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
