Principal Corporate Communication Officer at The Kenya BioVax Institute

Job Purpose:        

Implement Corporate Communications related activities including public relations, digital communications, internal communications, sponsorships of events, brand and reputation management.

Requirements:

• At least eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at supervisory level in the public service or private sector;
• Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Public relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International relations or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Master’s Degree in Public relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International relations or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; or any other relevant or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Professional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable;
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Job Specification

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement corporate communication, public relations and corporate social responsibility strategy;
• Develop and implement the Institute’s corporate image and identity;
• Produce and distribute corporate publications, both internal and external circulations;
• Manage call centers;
• Organize public relations activities and events;
• Organize advertisement and promotional activities in line with public relations policies;
• Prepare and place adverts
• Ensure proper management, adoption and usage of Institute corporate identity (logo, corporate colors);
• Prepare and disseminate content in all the Institute’s touch points;
• Conduct stakeholder’s research and submit reports;
• Conduct outreach programs/activities by providing answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), and service queries; and
• Incorporate online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the Institute’s brand, both online and off line.

Terms of Service

• The successful applicant will be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms.
