    Manager International Stations

    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    Accountability (Responsibility)

    Policies and Procedures:

    • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the International stations to guarantee employee safety, corporate security, legislative compliance, delivery of quality customer service with a responsible environmental attitude so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

    Safety, Quality & Environment:

    • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture, a healthy, secure and cost-effective operation for Kenya Airways operations in International stations and ensure compliance with the relevant industry/legislative requirements and company procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
    • Oversee the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework within International stations and ensure atleast quarterly reviews of the risk control environment and submission of the Risk Control Matrix (RCM).
    • Perform risk assessment, maintain and contribute to the International stations risk register
    • Analyse safety hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents International stations and ensure effective implementation of root cause corrections.
    • Responsible for robust occupational safety and health (OSH) in International stations through quarterly safety action group (SAG) reviews and monthly safety inspections in all international stations.
    • Deliver agreed KSPI’s for international stations

    Day-to-Day Operations:

    • Contribute to the definition and development of KQ product portfolio particularly Ground handling services in International Stations.
    • Work closely with Network planning and GHA’s to support KQ expansion in different airports and enhance growth.
    • Accountable for cost & financial control within International Stations as per approved Budget
    • Ensure cost effective delivery of ground handling services in accordance with the agreed scope and standards as per service level agreements (SLA)
    • Develop International Stations key performance indicators (KPI’s), Reporting and analysis tools.
    • Responsible for planning for Stations Manpower requirement for budget purposes in line with KQ schedules and expansions.
    • Responsible for planning and follow-up of the International Stations budgets.
    • Work closely with the Commercial and station managers to identify new revenue and cost saving opportunities.
    • Ensure closure of all non-compliance issues arising from audits and evaluations within time frame provided.
    • Improve the cooperation of International stations and the Hub team by developing and optimizing the communication process to reduce the impact of irregular operations.
    • Provide for an efficient and effective organizational structure to deliver agreed scope and standard of service.
    • Ensure suitably trained/qualified/competent staff are placed throughout the stations.
    • Ensure GHA’s comply with SLA’s as per company service quality standards and authorities’ safety and security requirements.
    • Create and maintain a working relationship with airport stakeholders for the benefit of the company.

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:

    • Relevant University Degree with relevant professional qualifications
    • 7 years working experience in airline operations with at least 3 years in managerial level.
    • Safety Management System (SMS) Awareness
    • Aviation Security
    • Airside Safety
    • Station/Ground Handling Management (IATA) or equivalent
    • Management Skills training
    • Finance Management/Cost Control Training

    Other skills (desirable):

    • Customer service experience within the hospitality/airline industry.
    • Financial awareness.
    • Process oriented.
    • Experienced in planning and managing extensive human and material resources.
    • Experienced in delivering service in demanding consumer perishable environment.
    • Risk Governance and Management
